Your baby’s gender is already apparent, although he or she must be in the appropriate position in order for the technician or doctor performing the ultrasound to actually see it. Not only can the sex be determined, but you will be able to see the baby sucking her thumb, swallowing and even blinking, as long as they have the required equipment to distinguish these reflex movements. In some 3-D ultrasounds, it is possible to distinguish these.

The preparatory breathing movements of previous months (inhaling and exhaling) are now helping your baby breathe “under water”. On the other hand, her circulatory system is working full throttle, and her heart is pumping blood non-stop.

Your baby is now around 5 inches tall, or around 11 centimeters and a half, and weighs over 3 and a half oz., or around 100 grams.
