Home remedies have shown to be very effective in fighting against the effects of candida, thrush and cold sores.
For Oral Thrush & Cold Sores:
- Mix a few drops of tea tree oil (approximately 5 to 8 drops) into a glass of either warm or cold water. Gargle for about a minute. Let the solution touch all the parts of the mouth (throat, palate, cheek lining). Be careful not to swallow the solution. Gargle twice daily (preferably once in the morning and once before sleeping).
- Mix 1 Tbsp of sodium bicarbonate with a little water until it makes a paste. Apply directly over the sore, and keep in the mouth until the bicarbonate gradually dissolves.
- Mix 1 part sage leaves, 2 parts blackberry bush leaves, and 2 parts marshmallow leaves. Put ¼ lb of the mixture into boiling water and gargle and rinse repeatedly.
- Mix equal parts of thyme, hollyhock, and oregano. Make an infusion of 1 cup boiling water per 1 Tbsp herbs. Drink.
For vaginal yeast infections:
- Eat or apply yogurt directly in the vagina. The yogurt should contain live lactobacillus acidophilus, which are good bacteria that keep candida albicans in check. Make sure it has absolutely no sugar and other ingredients added to it.
- Calendula herbs may be used to reduce inflammation. Herbs such as tea tree oil, walnut, and Echinacea can be effective in treating vaginal infections.
