The following natural, home remedies for stomach acid have been used over time to calm the acidity and relieve the burning sensation produced in the esophagus:

  • Drink a small glass of papaya juice a half hour after eating to prevent heartburn.
  • Make a ginger tea.  Mix a slice of whole ginger with a 1/2 cup of water.  Boil for 10 minutes.  Drink before bedtime.
  • Allow to seep for 15 minutes in boiling water: 1 Tbsp chamomile, a couple of fennel seeds.  Drink after meals.
  • Allow to seep for 15 minutes in 1 liter of boiling water: 8-10 tsp of Whole Star Anise and 1 Tbsp Mint.  Drink 2 or 3 cups throughout the day.
  • Allow to seep for 15 minutes in 1 liter of boiling water: 1 Tbsp Mint and 1 Tbsp Chamomile.  Drink 2 or 3 cups daily.
