Flatulence is the excess of accumulated gas in the digestive system.  Flatulence can be identified by the following symptoms that one may experience:

Ø  A feeling of bloating and discomfort

Ø  Excessive expulsion of gas

Ø  Belching

Ø  Abdomen pain

Here are some home remedies that may help relieve the discomfort and pain of flatulence:

  • Mix ½ tsp of a tea of ground ginger with a pinch of asafetida and a pinch of rock salt in a cup of luke warm water.  Drink to relieve gas pain.

  • Make an infusion with a mixture of a Tbsp of chopped anis pod in a cup of water and drink it warm.  If the anis is in the form of a seed, boil ½ tsp in a cup of water for 2-3 minutes and drink it warm.

  • At each meal, drink a mixture of 2 tsp of apple cider vinegar and 2 tsp honey in a glass of water.

  • Boil a bunch of celery in 2 cups of water for 5 minutes.  Drink with each meal.

  • Boil a bunch of thyme in 2 cups of water for 5 minutes.  Drink 1 cup daily.  You may add 1 tsp of honey if desired.
