The common cold is a respiratory infection caused by a virus. There are many types of viruses that cause colds. Even though being exposed to colds is inevitable, home remedies and easy therapies that you can do exist to help relieve the uncomfortable symptoms.

The common cold is a respiratory infection caused by a virus.  There are many types of viruses that cause colds.  Even though being exposed to colds is inevitable, home remedies and easy therapies that you can do exist to help relieve the uncomfortable symptoms.

 

  • Lemon is one of the most important among home remedies for the common cold.  Dilute lemon juice in a glass of hot water and add a tsp of honey.  Drink once or twice daily.
  • Dilute 1 Tbsp of tamarind paste into 1 cup water. Boil the tamarind water for a few minutes and add a tsp of lard/butter and ½ tsp of black pepper.  Drink three times daily.
  • Mix 2 tsp of the following raw herb mixture: Eucalyptus, Chamomile, and wild pine with 4 cups of boiling water in a container.  Cover head and container with a towel and inhale vapor for 10 minutes.  Wash face with cold water.  Repeat twice daily.
  • Prepare a ginger tea, adding pieces of ginger to boiling water before adding tea leaves.  Drink twice daily.
