There are many very effective home remedies that you can try to help against bronchitis.
To combat inflammation in the bronchi, you may try one of the following traditional remedies:
- Take ½ tsp of turmeric with half a glass of milk two or three times daily. Works better when taken on an empty stomach.
- To help expel phlegm, mix 2 Tbsp of lemon with 1 Tbsp honey and add a pinch of hot pepper.
- For many centuries, onions have been used as a remedy for bronchitis because of their expectorant characteristics. Take 1 tsp of raw onion juice first thing in the morning.
- Make your own cough syrup. In a pot filled with water, add a little ground/crushed anise, chamomile, lime, and cloves, and boil for 5 minutes. Add to the pot a mixture of 3 Tbsp honey and 2 Tbsp lemon. Pour the syrup in a glass jar, cover and refrigerate. Take 2 Tbsp three times daily.
