Your baby is starting little by little to look like a human being. Right up to now she looked more like a bean. It only measures a ¼ of an inch, or six millimeters, but its heart keeps pumping blood hard. All its organs keep growing fast such as her brain and lungs or the pancreas, a very important organ which will produce enzymes which will help digest the nutrients you deliver to her through the umbilical cord.
Your baby’s intestines are still housed in the umbilical cord, until these fall into place inside her body. The brain, even though it is only four weeks old already has more than 100 thousand millions neurons, this is only a small part of what it will have in the future. A small trace of what will be its nose has emerged on its face and also the lenses of her eyes have begun to form.
